Fluffy – Jasper
While hiking in Jasper, Charlie and I came across the fuzzy little guy below. We affectionately nicknamed him Fluffy
He was surprisingly brave and came quite close to us (probably expecting us to drop a few bread crumbs). As we started to walk away after snapping a few photos, he hopped along the ground following after us.
If you know what type of bird Fluffy is, please let us know in the comments

That’s a Grey Jay, aka, Whiskey Jack! They’re very curious animals (or quick to learn that curiosity is often rewarded with pieces of bread and trail mix) Check out the shot I got of one while hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire: http://searunner.wordpress.com/2012/06/01/feel-that-mountain-air/
Thanks so much
Your blog looks great!
Excellent photograph. Glad you enjoyed your time in Jasper National Park. It is a fabulous park, albeit more remote. Looking forward to viewing more of your photos. Whiskey Jacks are often in attendance. I carry a cracker to break up in the palm of my hand. With a bit of patience the birds will perch on my hand and eat the cracker. Nature – up close and personal. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Barry
We’ll have to remember to take along some crackers on our next hike in the mountains.
