The Alberta Badlands Up Close

This was taken at a campground south of Dry Island Buffalo Jump.  The Tolman campsite is about 2.5 hrs. south of Edmonton.  If you live in Calgary or Red Deer you will have a shorter drive.

The photo was taken the same weekend I practiced sunset portraiture by taking pictures of Jessica.    I also took my first light painting photo that weekend.

I was concentrating on capturing textures and patterns.  Lately, I am fascinated with pictures that have lots of  patterns and detail.  Over the summer, on occasion,  I have attempted to create pictures that resembles or reminds the viewer of a painting.  This is  one of my earlier attempts.

I captured many photos like this one and I need to make time to process them.  This is one I quickly today to process.
