Ross Agri Mobil 1 Canadian Hot Air Balloon Championship

I hosted a meetup, for the Edmonton Camera Club, at the Ross Agri Mobil 1 Canadian Hot Air Balloon Championship in Camrose Alberta, Canada.  The balloon race is quite a long event.  The meetup was for the Sun Media Night Glow.    A night glow is when all the balloons are inflated on a field at night.  The balloons are tied down and the burners are used to illuminate the balloons.  Unfortunately the winds were too high yesterday.   So the balloons could not fly and the glow was cancelled.  Instead of the glow they had a Candle Light.  Which is the fire without the balloon.  It was still fun  🙂

What you can’t tell from the photos is the incredible loud roar from the burners.  It can be quite a surprise when you hear it up close!

Checkout their Facebook page if you want to see more great pictures of the event.  I would be there right now to try and capture some great shots, but I woke up this morning with a terrible cold.

Technical Note:  D90 with the 35mm 1.8
